Movement Campaigns - The Playbook

Friends,

Thanks to everyone who came out on April 6th and 7th for our first-ever Indiana Movement Campaigns training. Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to help take care of our awesome trainers. These were folks with extensive campaign experience working for national candidates like Bernie Sanders as well as others across the country. Anyone wanting to run a serious, people-powered electoral campaign should learn from these awesome folks.

Which is why I'm so pleased to offer a link to the slide decks, the training documents, and the spreadsheets we went over as a group, free for anyone to access!

I've said all along that my goal is to encourage more candidates to run campaigns that involve ordinary people in doing the simple but arduous work of rebuilding our democracy and taking back power from the 1%. These tactics and strategies are so powerful because they're easy to re-use as long as you're willing to work hard and listen to constituents.

Sadly, reviewing slide decks by yourself is much less impactful and harder to learn from than working in a big group to learn collectively. That's why we are already starting to plan for another major training in two years. And next year, we are considering hosting a "How to start now for next year's campaign" training, to help potential candidates prepare themselves to run and win with a longer timeline. If you'd like to start chipping in now, or at any point in the future, this link will collect funds that will be earmarked exclusively for hosting similar trainings.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our training a success. I'm already excited for how we build from here!

Under my signature, find my weekly update for last week. The TL;DR this week is: working hard on housing!

In love and solidarity,
Jesse
